James E. McDaniel brings over 25 years of diverse litigation and transactional experience to Bay Legal, PC, with a career spanning real estate law, insurance defense, and high-volume civil litigation. Licensed in all California state courts and all U.S. federal districts in California, James has tried more than 50 jury trials to verdict and over 15,000 bench trials, giving him an unmatched depth of courtroom experience.

Throughout his career, James has represented clients in complex real property disputes, commercial and residential landlord-tenant matters, wrongful death and negligence cases, consumer protection litigation, and federal matters including bankruptcy and immigration. His practice has also included extensive arbitration, mediation, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Before joining Bay Legal, James served in senior litigation roles with prominent firms such as Tyson & Mendes, Latitude Legal, and the Law Offices of Dennis P. Block, as well as managing his own law practice in Los Angeles for nearly two decades. He holds a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law and a Master’s in Economics from California State University, Los Angeles.
