Rachael A. Berg
Contract Attorney – Trusts, Estates, and Civil Litigation
Profile:
Rachael A. Berg is a licensed California attorney with extensive experience in trust and estate planning, civil litigation, and construction-related legal matters. Since 2019, Rachael has operated as a solo practitioner, preparing comprehensive trust and estate plans to help individuals and families protect their legacies and plan for the future. She now serves as a contract attorney with Bay Legal, PC, focusing on delivering tailored estate planning solutions for the firm’s clients.
Rachael’s background is uniquely enriched by her previous career as a licensed California general contractor, a role she held beginning in 2007. This experience gives her a distinctive, real-world perspective on property, construction, and asset management—an invaluable asset when advising clients on trust and estate matters involving real property and complex assets.
In addition to her estate planning work, Rachael has broad civil litigation experience, including representing both plaintiffs and defendants in construction defect cases, insurance defense, and general liability matters such as bodily injury, medical malpractice, and premises liability. Her dual focus on transactional and litigation matters allows her to anticipate and proactively address the legal challenges clients may face.
Rachael earned her J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2017, graduating with multiple academic honors, including the Jefferson Medal for excellence in Wills and Trusts, the CALI Excellence for the Future Award, and the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence. She also holds a B.A. from Oregon State University.
Rachael is licensed to practice law in California (State Bar #327109), and holds a current California General Contractor license (#B898838). She is an active member of the California Lawyers Association Trusts & Estates Section, the Probate Attorneys of San Diego, and the American Bar Association.
With her unique blend of legal knowledge, hands-on property expertise, and a strong academic foundation in estate law, Rachael provides Bay Legal clients with thoughtful, practical, and effective estate planning and advisory services.
